FAQs
How does coaching work?
First you would schedule a discovery call. This call is to see if we are a good match for working together to achieve your goal. From there we would meet to have our sessions together. We will talk about not just how you can reach your goal, but what gets in the way of achieving it, what action steps/forward motion needs to happen to start working towards the goal and how to sustain your goal after achieving it. These sessions together are really about what your needs are and how to find ways to keep moving closer to the goal. Sessions can be up to an hour and can take place weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on your needs.
What is coaching?
Coaching is different from therapy. Coaching is meeting you where you are at in your life and working towards your future. Coaching is self-exploration, self-knowledge, self-management and forward moving. Coaching is a partnership between yourself and I. I am there to help you to be accountable, to be a save space to speak friendly to find out what is blocking you from moving forward.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Therapists have to diagnosis in order to treat. A coaching is discovery based, using the human potential theory. Therapy puts the therapist in a position of expert with the knowledge, where coaching is a partnership. Therapy is focused on emotions and how to resolve them, where coaching helps people to design the life they want. Therapy looks at your past to process it, where coaching meets you where you are at and helps you move forward.
Why work with a coach?
Where I can give you, I’m sure hundreds of reasons why, what I will say is that it can help to hear things said out loud. Taking it from just being a thought in your head to verbalizing it is powerful. It helps to gain insight and bring awareness. Working with a coach helps you to build your future by starting with three simple questions: “Where are you now?” “Where do you want to be?” and “What is getting in the way?” We all have the potential of achieving our goals, we just sometimes need a little help to get there.
How long does it take to work with a coach?
This depends on the person. With any new changes it can take a total of 12 weeks to go from putting it in place to making it a reality. Some people may need 1 session, so may need more then 12. The nice thing about working with me is that we will start with one goal at a time and reassess as we move forward in your journey.
